Forex, one session after another.
Majors and crosses through the four centres that shape the trading day. Leverage, stops and margin behave just as they do across the rest of ICX Prime.
-
The sessions
The week starts in Sydney, then Tokyo, then London through midday, and New York takes it to the close.
-
Seven quote currencies
AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, NZD, USD and JPY, so a pair is usually quoted in the way you'd naturally read it.
-
Leverage you can see
As much as x200 per position, on cross margin, with a live margin ratio instead of a sum to do yourself.
Session hours (UTC)
| Centre | Through the day | Hours, UTC | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sydney | 22:00 07:00 | ||
| Tokyo | 00:00 09:00 | ||
| London | 08:00 17:00 | ||
| New York | 13:00 22:00 |
The usual trading hours of each centre, set against a UTC clock. Crypto has no such hours and trades round the clock, seven days a week.
Worth knowing first
What session is best to trade?
Whichever one you can follow. Activity peaks while London and New York overlap, yet a quieter session you're awake for beats a busy one you sleep through.
Is the platform shut between sessions?
Currency pairs keep to the market week. Crypto carries on through the gaps, which is the reason both live in one account.
How does margin work out?
It is cross margin: a single pool supports all open positions. The gauge next to the ticket shows how much of that pool is in use.
Can a stop be set in percent?
Yes. Take profit and stop loss each take a fixed price or a percentage distance from the entry.
